Day 9

Wednesday, September 18

6:53 am

I woke up later than I usually do today. Knowing that its only one day left until we leave Germany, I got sad. Sidal´s father drove us to school.
8:30 am
In school I noticed that everyone looked so sad, sick and tired. Even though we wanted to go back to Sweden a couple of days ago I think that we are going to miss Bielefeld very much. Today was a normal school day, we worked with our scrapbooks as usual. We didn’t have P.E so we closed an hour earlier.

4:00 pm

Sidal and I went home to leave our school bags before heading to Jahnplatz to find gifts for my family. We met some classmates while searching for the perfect gifts for my family members, after buying everything that I needed, Sidal and I met up with Helen, Sara, Siaka, Nele, Ida, and Ina. We wanted to go to the “Zoo” because we thought that everyone else were there but we got to know that everyone did different things for example, some went bowling while others went shopping. Sidal, Helen, Sara and I stayed in Jahnplatz for a couple of more hours, we took pictures, talked and drank warm chocolate from Starbucks. I wanted to go over to Helens house but Sidal thought that it was too late so we headed home around 6;30 pm.

 7:00 pm

When I got home, I took pictures of the house that I’m living in, I also took picture with Sidal’s family. I skyped with my second cousin Etchell and later with Sabina while packing. After finishing packing and skyping I laid down on my bed, wrote in my scrapbook and then slept

                                       Day 9: 17 of September

This morning we sat in a different classroom because the Swedes from Halmstad came. The Halmstad kids they look like they are 17-18 and when we talk to them their dialect sounds very weird and it´s different from ours. When school was over we went to Ishara (swimming hall) we played catch, we went to a slide named black hole it´s an awesome slide you go down very fast
But if you want to go even faster take the red ring and you will have twice as fun I really recommend that. After the swimming hall Mikail and I went home with Ben´s mom to prepare for the party.

When every body arrived to the party we started to eat, the food was very good, especially the buns and ribs. I think everyone enjoyed the party because they meat the families of the German students. Then the Germans decided to show us a slideshow about the time when they were in Sweden. There were some funny pictures.

Day 8
16 of September
Now everything starts to feel normal maybe it´s because we have been here for one week, maybe just because everyday starts in the same way or the reason is that we have our friends here. I think that everyone of us have different answers on this Question and we should have that because we all have different feelings. I will try to tell you more about the school and what we all have been through together.

We meet each other in the orange school this morning as usual we went in to the conference room that we got. And in the room we have all our lessons after a short repetition about the rules we start writing in our scrapbooks and for those of you who don´t now what a scrapbook is, can I tell you that it´s like a diary. Every day we need to write about our feelings and opinions in this scrapbook. After writing for one and an half hour we had a break and went to the cafeteria almost everyone gets bread and something to drink everyday so we don´t have to by stuff like that in the cafeteria but you can buy both soda and candy there. After the brake we meet some of the exchange partners and they take us to a concert house. I think that this was a bad copy of when we showed the Germans the Royal opera in Stockholm. I actually don´t understand what special it was whit this house it was not very old, not very big and not cool in anyway.
So when this little guided tour of the concert house was over we went to the park there we played little soccer, and just hung out. It was a big statue of an elk in the park I think that this was a bit weird because you can´t find any elks in Germany. I even asked Mira (Ida´s exchange partner) if she ever had seen an elk and the answer I got was
“No, not in real”. You can think what you want but my opinion is that this statue should be placed somewhere else.

When we were back in school it was time to eat lunch we eat quite late here and the food is very different, in all ways. I think that the food doesn´t taste anything and if it does its just fat food like pizza. The only thing better whit the German school food compared with the Swedish is that in Germany you can take how much fruit you want to in Sweden we don´t have any fruit. I never thought that I would say this but I miss the Swedish school food.

After the lunch break we return to the conference room and after that almost everyone went to town together with our partners. The town looks almost the same way as Stockholm the streets have almost the same shops and all the streets are located around the main street.

We went in to a shoes shop it was very funny in there, both Siaka and Cemal tried to wear high heels and they were much better than I cold imagine. =)

When we were done in town Cemal, Siaka, Petra, I and our exchange partners went to Lale´s home and there we slept over. We started watching  a move but it was so boring that we decided to stop watching it. After that we spoke with each other we feel asleep.

Day 3, School

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 11TH
On Wednesday Helen’s mom organised a tour for us at the university of Bielefeld. When we got there I thought the university looked like an old train station. It was very plain and boring so wouldn’t like to go to that school. I noticed that there is a lot of younger kids there and if I would go there I would find it very annoying because people that don’t go to the university should not be there. When the tour was almost over we all went up to the 10th floor and we saw a beautiful view of the city. I really liked it up there because all of the houses, people and cars were so small. It looked like a little dollhouse and it was so cute. When the tour was over we had a little race at the schools racetrack and Siaka was the fastest runner. The last class of the day was PE. In class we played Ghost ball and baseball. And the rest of the day we wrote our scrapbooks in class. The After the school a lot of people went to Neles including myself.
But my partner Jamie went home because she had some homework to do. When we came to Nele’s house I thought that she had a really nice house but it very cold. After about one hour some of us decided to go for a little walk outside to a lake. It was fun walking because we all talked and laughed together. But after walking for 20 minutes it started raining so we went back to Nele’s house. At her house we just had fun together and her mom made really good food for us. We ate patties, fries and corn. Around 10 at night I met Jamie and Kai at the train station and we went home.

Day 7: Sunday Fun day

                                   Day 7: Sunday Fun day

The rain had been pouring down since we came on Monday,
Sunday was the first sunny day so we decided to get together and go swimming. Some chose to go bowling instead. We had fun at the swimming hall, we rode the slide Black hole. After swimming we went to the theater.

The theater was very fun and interesting. We formed many groups and they gave us socks because we were not aloud to wear shoes. On our way in they gave us each a picture and with that picture we were suppose to find a group. During the theater we went to different women who asked us many questions and we discussed many things. We got to build a house with little walls, and after that they put on lights and it was very nice. The theater was interesting because it was not like a "normal" theater. In this theater you had to participate and share your thoughts.

Day 4: The trip to Hamburg

Thursday morning we all met at the school parking lot, when everybody was gathered we had to wait for the bus to pick us up. We left Laborshoule at 8.40 am.

The trip took about four hours. It was suppose to take three hours but it was a lot of traffic due to accidents. We didn't do much in the bus, everyone was sitting with a friend and talking.

After about two hours we had a break at a drive stop kiosk for about half an hour. When we where back on the road we drove like another hour or before we got stuck in a big traffic again. It took about 40 minutes to move 10 meters with the bus, but after but after a while the traffic was flowing again and we arrived in Hamburg around one o'clock.

We got off right next to the Hamburg Dungeon, its a ghost house where you get guided by the staff who act like pirates or crazy people. At the ending they had two small attractions, a water tunnel where you sat on a boat and a free fall that was around 5-7 meters. When we got out some of us bought some souvenirs and drinks. Then we got back on the bus to the Hamburg central station, some of us got so excited because we saw KFC so we ran from  the teachers and ordered our food. After the food we went shopping stuff in the big centrum. At 17:45 we had to wait for the bus to drive us home.
